This will be the sixth time in eight years that the Scottish Open has been hosted on Scotland’s Golf Coast. Gullane hosted the tournament in 2015 and 2018, and now the Renaissance Club has added its fourth year in a row.

Thanks to a strategic alliance between the PGA and European Tours, the Scottish Open is now a co-sanctioned event. The best players in the world will be able to compete for both FedEx and Race to Dubai points.

With the 150th Open being held at St Andrews the following week, and with a number of US based pros already talking about coming early to hone their links skills, it’s sure to be a fantastic field.

Open Champion made in Scotland

Last year’s Open champion, Collin Morikawa, was keen to point out that the Scottish Open helped prepare him for the challenge of Royal St George’s, “I’ve played in firm conditions. I can think of places I’ve played in tighter, drier conditions, but just having fescue fairways and the ball sitting a little different was huge to see last week.”
