SCOTLAND’S GOLF COAST HAS THREE FANTASTIC SPA EXPERIENCES

On Scotland’s Golf Coast, we talk a lot about East Lothian being ‘more than just golf’. It’s of course hard to look beyond the 21 courses and the greatest concentration of championship links courses in the world.

But, with so much more on offer, it is only right that we highlight what both golfers and non-golfers can enjoy during their stay.

However, for those that need to relax and unwind, be pampered, treated and soothed, there are three of our fantastic accommodation providers offering first class spa facilities.

Garleton Lodge

Perched high up above the Forth of Firth, with extensive views of Fife, the North Sea and Edinburgh, is Garleton Lodge. The tone is set on arrival with the hotel, restaurant and spa all positioned to provide guests with 360-degree panoramic views overlooking the Forth, Edinburgh and the surrounding East Lothian countryside. Golfers may need to rest those weary limbs in the hot tub, whilst non-golfers can sit back and enjoy the stress-free environment of Angela and David’s luxury hotel/restaurant/spa retreat.

The Spa at Garleton Lodge is open to residents and non-residents and offers treatments for both ladies and gents. It has recently been enlarged to now offer three treatment rooms. Depending on your schedule, there is an array of treatments, including a full range of massages, together with spa packages for those taking time out from a busy golf itinerary.

The Spa has partnered with international skincare brand Dermalogica but also promotes locally produced skincare products including those made by Laura Thomas (LT&Co) here in East Lothian.

To ease the aches, the massage treatments are extensive. Swedish Back, Neck and Shoulder Massages will enhance circulation and focus on the upper body, whereas the Sports Massage, ideal for the golfer, will release tight muscles and realign the tissues to help posture.

Although Scotland’s Golf Coast is Scotland’s sunniest and driest region, you can even top up your St Tropez tan in the tanning room.

Marine North Berwick

Heading down to the coast, the newly refurbished Marine North Berwick sits triumphantly overlooking the West Links and the Bass Rock.

The Marine – ‘Grand Old Lady’ is ideally positioned for the two North Berwick golf courses, together with the restaurants and bars of the vibrant town.

For peace and tranquillity, the Spa at Marine North Berwick has teamed up with French skincare brand, Caudalie. Their scientific approach combined with active ingredients from their local vineyards, offer a fantastic range of body and facial treatments.

The Caudalie Vinotherapists deliver the ultimate in luxurious techniques, so whether you want to indulge or restore, the Marine is the ideal location. A single treatment can be booked or the dedicated spa team can create a bespoke package.

Fletcher’s Cottage

Staying on the coast is a relative newcomer. Archerfield Links has two golf courses, the Dirleton and the Fidra, aswell as a range of accommodation and the award-winning, Fletcher’s Cottage Spa.
