WINTER GOLF ON SCOTLAND’S GOLF COAST

It’s so tempting to put the clubs in the garage and enjoy other winter activities. This is especially the case when the weather is unpredictable. However, winter golf has so much to offer, particularly on Scotland’s Golf Coast.

Here are five reasons to keep the clubs in the boot and consider treating yourself

Winter golf Don’t Stop!

Having worked hard on your game over the past nine months, it seems a shame to stop and start again. A bit like fitness, it takes a while to get back in tune. Keeping the momentum going, who knows what can be achieved in the first competition of the next summer season! Even if it’s 9 holes, chipping and putting, it’s great for your game. Plus, playing in all conditions can help focus the mind.

Winter golf Health and Well-being

It’s winter. The hours in the day are less. In some instances, it’s dark when we get up, it’s dark when we get home. Taking the opportunity of the daylight is vital for our health, and not only for vitamin D. The fresh air, the social aspect, the views, the exercise, and the change of scene are crucial for both physical and mental well-being. Winters can seem long but making the effort to get out and about is the best kind of medicine.

Winter golf Value for Money

The summer months have courses in prime condition. Demand on tee times and bedrooms is great. It is called High Season for a reason. Head into low season, and there is no reason to be down. Prices are lower, but so many of our courses have that beautiful firm turf, are well-draining, and our wonderful dry micro-climate pushes the rain clouds a little further away (most of the time!). The winter green fees on some of our Championship courses are sensational. Similarly, the value for money on our hidden gems is hard to beat.

The Experience

Remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather. Picture the scene. A wholesome breakfast prepares you for the day ahead. Wrap up nice and warm. Those Christmas golf mitts you got from your nephew can get their first outing. The hat you purchased at your favourite golf course last year is firmly on your head. Maybe treat yourself to a snood this season. Out into the fresh air, the wind is gusting, it’s cool, but it’s dry. 18 holes of great chat, many laughs, a few good shots, a few bad ones. After you shake hands on the 18th, there is the anticipation of a pint of real ale, Cullen Skink, and warming up by a roaring log fire. Great memories.

What a Treat!

The swing is in tune, the head is clear, you feel energised, there’s a bit more money in your pocket, and you have a smile on your face. So, let’s share. There is no better gift this Christmas than a golf trip to Scotland’s Golf Coast. Pre- and post-Christmas can be hectic. There is so much to think about. Like that slice on the 1st, there is so much wood for the trees. So, book your trip to Scotland’s Golf Coast this winter, get the date in the diary, get the invites out, and we can guarantee you the most sensational golf trip at a fraction of the price. Tee time and bedroom availability is there, make an enquiry, we can do the rest.

No excuses. 😀
