The world's of art and golf don't cross paths often, it seems. Perhaps they are both all too time-consuming to make room for each other? Just an Average Golfer gives unbiased opinions on all things golf, product tests, Golf travel vlogs and golf news! Average Golfer visited Gullane No2 earlier this year. Gullane may be on the bucket-list, but No2 is a fantastic golf course in its own right.
If you haven’t already crossed paths with him, well, now you have. Malcolm runs The Duck’s Inn in East Lothian, a region home to Muirfield, Gullane, Renaissance Club, Kilspindie, Dunbar, and North Berwick, just to name 6 of 21 courses in 30 miles of coastline that is dubbed Scotland’s Golf Coast.
Craigielaw has challenging greens, cavernous bunkers and spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Gullane Hill and out towards Edinburgh and Fife.
The game of golf owes a lot to this little stretch of East Lothian linksland. Musselburgh Old Links is the oldest remaining golf course in the world.

From 7th to 11th July 2022, The Renaissance Club will host the Genesis Scottish Open.
This will be the fourth time in a row that the Renaissance Club has held the Rolex Series event. Now that the event is co-sanctioned by the PGA and European tours, there is sure to be a fantastic line-up.
From 4th to 7th August 2022, Muirfield will host the AIG Women’s Open.
Sweden’s, Anna Nordqvist will defend her title against the world’s best.
Muirfield has hosted 16 Opens, with Phil Mickelson winning in 2013, but this will be the first ever Women’s Open at Muirfield.
Throughout East Lothian, there are a number of professional golf coaching facilities. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, there is a range of services providing hands on instruction that is sure to enhance your game.
Scotland’s Golf Coast is home to the world’s first Nike Performance and Fitting Centre, at Archerfield Links, and runs a number of Ultimate Golf Experiences.
